As for Gomez, who has been with Liverpool since 2015, he will consider his options after almost leaving the club. Liverpool has no intention of pushing him out, as the discussions in June were prompted by Newcastle's need for a transfer and Gomez being presented as an option. Gomez's current contract runs until 2027, and he is still regarded as one of the top four centre-backs by new manager Slott. Despite his value as a versatile player who can perform at both full-back positions, Liverpool is willing to sell Gomez for £45 million, and the 27-year-old player is open to new challenges. Last season, Gomez made 51 appearances for Liverpool, including 31 starts, the most he's had in a season since joining Anfield. However, he has only started two games as a centre-back in the Premier League, which has left him frustrated.
